Despite the picture I have up there, it has nothing to do with Black Arts, I mean, Voodoo. However, in context of its true form, some people think it was a complete failure in reuniting the African American culture and its people. Mainly, this is because those people think it did nothing for African Americans and their awareness, and was ineffective. it could also be called a "homophobic" movement. But most of all, it was one of the first movements to decide to post African American poetry boldly (maybe other than the Harlme Renessaince period). Langhston Hughes, Maya Angelou, Gwendolyn Brooks, and many others were a part of this era.
